These terms govern your use of yummo.top (the “Site”). By reading or otherwise using the Site you accept them. If you do not accept them, do not use the Site.

1. Identification is your responsibility

The Site describes how wild plants are prepared and eaten. It does not teach you to identify them, and nothing on the Site is a confirmation that any particular plant you have found is safe to eat.

You are solely responsible for correctly identifying anything you intend to consume, and for doing so with a reliable field guide, with a knowledgeable person, or both. Several plants described on the Site have toxic lookalikes, and the same species may be edible in one part and toxic in another, or edible at one growth stage and not at another. When in doubt, throw it out. If you cannot identify a plant with certainty, do not eat it.

2. Not medical advice

The Site is not a medical, toxicological or nutritional authority and does not provide medical advice. Nothing on it should be used to diagnose, treat or prevent any condition.

If you or anyone else has eaten a plant and become unwell — vomiting, cramps, diarrhoea, dizziness, confusion, tingling, a rash or difficulty breathing — seek emergency medical care immediately and contact a poison control centre. Take a sample or a photograph of what was eaten with you if you can do so safely. Do not wait for a reply to an email sent to the Site.

Some people react to otherwise edible plants because of allergy, medication, pregnancy, or an existing liver or kidney condition. Do not use the Site to decide whether a plant is suitable for you; ask a qualified clinician.

3. Accuracy and change

Plant parameters — harvest windows, blanching times, brine concentrations, drying temperatures, fermentation durations — vary with cultivar, soil, altitude, climate and the individual plant. The figures given are working values that reflect common practice, not universal constants. Entries are revised as better information arrives, and any entry may be amended or removed at any time without notice.

4. Your own risk

You use the Site and act on it at your own risk. Foraging carries risks including poisoning, injury, allergy and contact with protected species or protected land. It is your responsibility to know the law where you are: in many jurisdictions it is illegal to pick plants in nature reserves, on protected sites, or on private land without permission, and some species are protected outright.

5. Intellectual property

The text, the parameter tables, the figures and the layout of the Site are protected by copyright and belong to the Site’s operator unless stated otherwise. You may quote a short passage with attribution and a working link to the entry it came from. You may not republish an entry in full, translate an entry, or use the figures in another publication, in print or online, without written permission. Requests go to the address in section 8.

6. Third-party links and advertising

The Site links to third-party websites and displays advertising served by third parties, including Google AdSense. Those parties are not under our control and we are not responsible for their content, products or practices. Following a third-party link is at your own risk, and any dealings you have with an advertiser are between you and that advertiser. Data practices relating to advertising are described in the privacy policy.

7. Limitation of liability

The Site is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including any warranty of accuracy or fitness for a particular purpose. To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Site’s operator is not liable for any loss, injury, illness or damage arising from your use of the Site or from reliance on anything published on it.
